SPIRITUAL ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION
As you read this chapter you need to do something. Therefore, I would like you to pray the following prayer point aggressively.
O Lord, write my name among those who are victorious, in the name of Jesus.
The phrase ‘environmental sanitation’ has been popularised in Nigeria as a result of a government policy which
centres on dealing with wastes, dirt, unhealthy conditions and all forms of unwanted materials which litter most cities.
In recent times, certain days are carved out as days when the entire populace is supposed to clean up the environment. Perhaps the government has come up with that policy to minimise health hazards.
The government goes to the extent of arresting those who fail to participate in the exercise. Besides this general experience, it is likely that every reader of this book is personally familiar with some forms of environmental sanitation or personal hygiene.
What I want you to know is that just as we try to take care of our environmental and personal health, in order to avoid epidemics, life threatening diseases, insects and pests that thrive in dirty environments and other forms of health hazards; we must be intelligent enough to know that spiritual environmental sanitation is equally necessary.
Why? For exactly the same reasons we do physical environmental sanitation. If you neglect spiritual environmental sanitation you will be
inviting all kinds of spiritual pests. You will allow spiritual diseases (and even physical ones) to make a garbage heap out of your life. You will invite epidemics that will terminate your business, marriage, finance and progress. If you fail to clean up regularly you will suffer all kinds of physical and spiritual hazards.
The devil is very intelligent. He always looks for polluted or dirty environments to deposit his evil luggage. If he comes across your life and finds it dirty, stinking, unkempt and disorganised he will rejoice because he has found a candidate for his destructive mission. Demons have a penchant for dirty environments. It goes without saying that they hate cleanliness.
Failure to do spiritual environmental sanitation is to invite satan and his demons and provide them with spacious accommodation. Whether you like it or not you must do some spiritual house cleaning. Failure to do so is to face certain unpleasant consequences. No wonder, the lives of many people today are infested by powers that thrive under dirty health conditions. In fact, a lot of people have lost their lives as a result of failure to do spiritual environmental sanitation.
To purify means to make pure. We are all familiar with the ubiquitous packaged ‘pure water’. To purify water, genuine experts run available water through a process to kill visible and invisible germs and deadly microorganisms and to remove metals and other things that are injurious to human health.
Just as we have experts who know how to purify water, there are quacks who package impure water and sell it to unsuspecting members of the public. Those who buy that kind of impure water generally hazard their lives and suffer diseases like typhoid, cholera diarrhoea and other forms of water-borne diseases.
Therefore, purification is the removal of impurity, dirt or harmful materials. It also means: to render perfectly clean or spotless. To purify is to render perfect or non-defective.
What does the word ‘purify’ connote?
It means: to render genuine or unadulterated. With this basic lexicographic examination of the word, purification, we can now go into the Scriptures and examine its usage.
To purify is to ensure that a material is unmixed with other foreign substances.
. . . And He shall purify . . . (Mal. 3:3).
What deduction can we make from this biblical usage of the word purify. Purification or purging precedes bringing an acceptable offering to God.
What does it mean to purge? To purge is to wash away all that is not clean. It is to clear off all undesirable materials.
Purging and cleansing are synonymous. It also means to cause your bowels to be empty. It means to make something clean and free from all that is impure or evil. In sum, it entails the removal of all filthiness in the body, in the spirit and from the environment.
Purification or purging is free as far as the divine economy is concerned. Therefore, to refuse to be purged or purified by God is to face serious consequences. God’s verdict will be tough on such people.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killeth the prophet and slayeth them which are sent onto thee how often will I have gathered thy children even as the hen gathereth her chickens under her wings and ye would not. Behold your house is left unto you desolate (Matthew 23:37-38).
That is the fate of those who refuse to make use of the means of grace to allow God’s broom of fire. If you do not allow God to have His way He will leave you alone. After all if your life is littered with dirt and pollution you are the one who will face the consequences.
If God offers you free facilities for purification and purging and you turn down His offer He will leave your house desolate. Then you will face grave consequences in time and in eternity.
Undoubtedly, the day of reckoning is at hand. You will have to give an account of all the opportunities which you misused. The Bible says, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad” (2 Cor. 5:10) . You can decide to let go all ungodliness in your life and let God have His way or you can decide to be a slave who loves his chains. I am sure you know that such a slave will never be free.
Let us look at some areas of slavery and examine how those who are enslaved in those areas have been kissing and hugging their chains. The bottom line is this, ignorance has remained man’s greatest enemy. It is the source of the destruction and the amputation of many lives. It is indeed strange that while destructive demons and wicked servants of satan sit down on their own, many people invite them to have a field day in their lives.
A lot of people are responsible for what happens to them. They invite the devil to come and put their hands and feet under chains simply because they want to copy worldly styles and standards.
A lot of people suffer from untimely death and terrible suffering and invite all kinds of troubles upon their lives through their actions. I know of those who got into trouble which made them permanently disabled because they went into actions which they did not consider inimical to their well-being.
Why must you copy what other people are doing? Do you know the consequences of such actions? What is the source of such actions? Have you ever thought about the power behind the things which people do? Have you ever asked, Does this action glorify God? Does it glorify Jesus? Why must you do something just because others are doing it? Why must you join the bandwagon when the Bible has clearly stated that you must be different? Have you forgotten that the Bible says that you are a peculiar person?
If you copy what another person is doing, would you like to suffer what he may suffer? The fact that you have failed to consider is that
somebody may do something and get away with it, while you will get into trouble with your first attempt.
Why must you copy anyone? One thing you must realise is that you are not supposed to make anyone your model if such a person is not following the Bible. People nave got into trouble by following one person or the other.
Have you considered the fact that you are unique? Your finger print has no duplicate. Your life cannot be compared with any other person’s life. God’s agenda for your life cannot be likened to His plan for other people’s lives.
To copy the people of the world is to be ready to face the consequences of their actions. You have nothing in common with the people of the world. Their, own headquarters is here in the world while your own headquarters is in heaven. They have a master, satan. You have a master, Jesus. In actual fact, both of you are supposed to be at parallel lines which can never meet.
It becomes clear, therefore, that bondage is outside the plan of God for mankind. Men and women walk into it on their own volition.
Let us therefore take a serious look at those things which people do ignorantly without knowing that they are walking into bondage with their eyes wide open.
THINGS THAT BRING BONDAGE
• DEMONIC JEWELRY
Any item that has been dedicated to satan is cursed and that curse cannot be removed. Specifically, I refer here to whatever is manufactured with the sole purpose of being used in the service of satan. For example, if the queen of the coast should decide to send one of her human agents to sell jewelry which were manufactured in the marine world in a popular market, and you buy it, thinking that you are spending your money on an ordinary piece of metal, then you are walking into bondage, whether you like it or not. Pray over it if you
like, you are just deceiving yourself. No matter your level of anointing, you cannot sanctify marine jewelry. You have no business with marine jewelrv. They manufactured it for themselves and for their prospective victims. Buying it means trespassing into their territory. You will face the consequences.
Additionally, most of the jewelry which are commonly sold in the market are resemblances of one demonic object or the other. Many ladies demonstrate their ignorance in this regard. If you have petals of flower, hexagram (something like five triangles) eyes, serpents, etc. on your jewelry, they have meanings in the occultic world. A lot of people take these things for granted, but I have decided to warn the ignorant and those who are careless. If you put on demonic jewelry without knowing what their symbols represent, you may start to experience nightmares.
One thing that has bothered me is that many Christians cannot recognise occultic symbols. But members of the occult are not naive, they know the symbols which mean something in the dark kingdom. I do not mean to frighten you, but let me tell you the truth. Every occultic symbol has a demonic spirit attached to it. Necklaces, earrings and rings with symbols of fish, half moon, nocturnal animals, triangles, skulls, and so on have deep occultic meanings.
The risks in using demonic jewelry
- You may be oppressed at night.
- You may be initiated into a demonic group.
- You may push blessings or even angelic assistance far away from you.
- You may end up being an advertiser of demonic symbols.
- You may make members of the occult to think that you are one of them since they know the symbol which you are carrying.
- You may end up multiplying your oppression and bondage.
- You may even find your name among the list of the registered users of the symbol.
These factors may be responsible for the situation in which you have found yourself at this moment.
I can recall at least the cases of three unmarried ladies in recent times who, as I was praying for them, the rings on their fingers became so hot and began to burn their fingers. They had to throw away the rings. I became curious and asked them some questions. The three of them told me how they were given the rings as gifts without their knowing that they became married in the spirit world as a result of the use of the rings. The three of them got a husband, one after the other, as soon as they threw away the rings. If not that they came across a deliverance minister who was able to help them out, they would have remained unmarried till this moment.
Do you know that there are unseen entities that are living underneath the earth or in the sea? Do you also know that most of the metals used for jewelry are found underneath the ground? The practice in the Far East is to bury some people with their idols. If a chief priest who worships an idol made of gold or other metals dies and his idol is buried with him and if some years later some people dig the ground and exhume the golden idol and sell it to some manufacturers of jewelry who in turn make several tiny jewelry out of it and export it to Africa, what do you think will happen if you buy one of such jewelry recycled from a heavily loaded demon idol? You will become a captive by extension. That is why many Africans have been initiated. When such people sleep they see Oriental idols.
Do you know that the practice in Bangkok and some other cities in Asia is that immediately jewelry are manufactured, the manufacturers being devotees of powerful idols, will not sell the jewelry or export them until they have dedicated them to their idols?
Do you consider it fashionable to buy such dedicated jewelry?
Or do you think it is fashionable to use jewelry made from broken parts of some golden idols? To be frank, many Africans are going
Do you know that the crimes and the vices which are prevalent among the worshipers of such gods and goddesses are also becoming common in Africa today? Many people have gone into astral travel, hallucination, homosexualism, lesbianism, bestiality and other forms of ungodly behaviour through contact with demonic jewelry. The devil sat on his own and you decided to buy his products. You must be ready to accept the consequences.
Do you know that God hates idols with perfect hatred? Do you also know that God has placed irrevocable curses upon all idols? If you decide to put on what God has cursed – something which comes from an idol – thinking that you are excused as a result of your ignorance, you are wrong. If you take liquid poison as if it were orange juice, nobody will share the consequences with you. Can you drink poison by faith and it will not harm you? Of course not. Your ignorance therefore is inconsequential, should you decide to violate the principles laid down by God.
Do you also know that most of the items which many people use to decorate their living rooms are taken from the mineral kingdom? What do you think will happen to you if you decide to decorate your house with a dazzling object from the altar of a high ranking marine goddess? Does ignorance exonerate you from the consequences of violation of divine commands?
God has always put a clear distinction between darkness and light. If you say you are a member of God’s family and you make use of demonic items you are building a bridge for the devil to walk over to you. Ordinarily, the devil has no legal right to come into your territory hut if you provide him with a bridge he will gladly come in.
I don’t know how much you know about the mineral kingdom. There is a lot of mixture and conversion going on in the mineral kingdom. There, bones of witches and wizards (with the satanic version of the Elijah anointing) plus remnants of idols are mixed together, under the satanic version of chemical reaction, to produce artifacts and decorative arts which you buy and place in your house. The
controllers of the underground demonic laboratories are the best designers. They design the best jewelry, second only to those of the queen of the coast.
Do you know that God did not make any mistake when he created you the way you are? But if you decide to reject God’s perfect design saying that you don’t want to look natural, and you opt to be a collector of what satan, God’s enemy, has designed for your destruction, then you are responsible for whatever happens to you. To disobey God is to become a toy in the hands of wicked spirits from the mineral kingdom. The choice is yours today. But remember that slaves who love their chains shall remain in bondage.
It is possible to advertise evil and consequently become a candidate of evil machinations. A few years ago, we conducted a three-day crusade. The first topic which was handled on the first day was entitled Eaters of flesh and drinkers of blood. Members of that church had never heard that kind of strange topic before but they prayed like they never did. On the second day, I preached on the topic, Now that you are here, where will you go from here? Again they prayed with all their strength. The third day was the grand finale. The topic was The baptism of fire. We gave an altar call and almost everyone who had not given his life before came forward.
There was a particular woman who prayed to the point that she was soaked in her sweat but she did not receive the Holy Ghost baptism. I wondered what happened to her. When I asked them to go back to their seats she stayed put and began to cry, “Why is everybody blessed and I am not?” Then I decided to help her. The Holy Spirit told me to look at her third finger. I looked and saw a ring with the symbol of the half moon. Anyone in the deliverance ministry would know that the half moon is the symbol of witchcraft. It is common knowledge that witches generally look out for the half moon before they take off for their nocturnal meetings. Here was a poor woman praying by the church altar asking for the Holy Spirit but with a witchcraft ring on her finger. That is why I stated earlier that demonic jewelry can hinder blessings. I told the woman to hand the ring to me and she complied.
Immediately the ring touched my hands the woman began to speak in tongues. The blockage had been removed. That is why none of our MFM ministers is allowed to put on jewelry. The reason is clear. If you put on a jewel which happens to be loaded with negative spiritual power and you lay your hand on an innocent man or woman who needs deliverance, the result will be a transference of negative anointing.
Some people may tell us that we are too strict, citing examples of American pastors who put on all kinds of jewelry and are effective. Well, I don’t know about them. But I know the peculiarities of the African continent.
• CARD PLAYING
card playing looks like an innocent pastime, but it is not as simple as it appears on the surface. The first cards were designed in 1932. They were made for a mad king, King Charles of France. Besides the origin, it is clear that card playing is prevalent among gamblers, touts, drug addicts, murderers, robbers, prostitutes, prisoners and other groups of people who are known for societal ills.
Some people play cards without knowing what they are holding in their hands. Others play the Ludo game which has pictures of snake and ladder without knowing the meaning of such symbols.
Now let us also look at the symbols on normal cards. The picture of the king of the card stands for satan. The tail card represents the spirit of lawlessness. The club was the weapon used by murderers in the olden days. It therefore represents the spirit of murder or death by violence. One of the cards carries the picture of Jack, which represents the spirit of fleshly lusts, sexual promiscuity and all forms of sexual sins. The queen card is supposed to represent Mary, the mother of Jesus, but it represents Mary, the queen of all harlots. The Joker is supposed to be the Lord Jesus Christ but it means the fool. The story is that the queen and the king gave birth to Jesus whom they call the fool thereby ridiculing the Lord Jesus. So, you can see that the cards are not as simple as they appear on the surface.
Do you know that manufacturers of clothing items often put demonic symbols or designs on their clothes? I have seen some people wear clothes with symbols of the Leviathan Alligator. The Leviathan is something between the crocodile and the serpent. In the Scripture it represents pride.
I have also seen other people wearing clothes with symbols of confusion. Other satanic symbols which cloth manufacturers have adopted as designs include the head of a goat. If you see the head of a goat on a cloth, do you know the meaning? Goat’s head is the official symbol of the church of satan. This is unknown to most people.
Other symbols are expressions of rejection, hatred, violence, defeat and other conditions which no man in his right mind will accept.
Let me say a word here to those who put on ties. You must be careful of the kind of design on your tie. The neck in the spirit world represents the will of man. To put on a tie which has satanic symbols is to surrender your life to the powers behind those symbols. That is why the lives of many people are upside down without any clear explanation.
The bottom line is that if you carry satanic symbols on you, the devil has every right to attack you. That is why you must be sharp and sensitive spiritually. Any time you see a confusing picture, avoid it
• BABY DOLLS
Parents often buy dolls for their babies without knowing what those dolls resemble. Some dolls have some evil spiritual connotations. The manufacturers of some of those dolls are members of the church of satan, they therefore make dolls that depict satan.
In America today, some Christian manufacturers have come up with an alternative to challenge demonic infiltration. They manufacture dolls which depict Bible characters and give them Bible names. They
started doing that when they discovered that their children were being attacked through demonic baby dolls which they ignorantly bought.
Here in Africa many people buy second-hand baby dolls without knowing whether the manufacturers and the first users of such dolls were demonic. It is unfortunate that children are helpless. If you buy a doll for a baby and it begins to dream about playing with the doll in the dream, you will not know. Something more than that may happen to the innocent baby. Who knows, the helpless baby may accept initiation without knowing what it is all about.
• THE CONCEPT OF LUCK
The concept of luck has become so popularised that Christians now talk about good luck. Whenever something good happens to somebody, people quickly conclude that such a person is lucky.
What is luck? Satan is the originator of the word luck. If you are a child of God, there is nothing like luck. If good things are happening to you, it is not as a result of good luck, it is divinely arranged. On the other hand, when something bad happens it is not bad luck. Rather, it is programmed by God. To be blessed or to suffer adversity is the result of either being at the right place at the right time or being at the wrong place at the wrong time. The truth is that nobody is actually lucky. If you are properly relating to God you are blessed, not that you are lucky. Then everything in your life will go on in accordance with the divine programme. Those who live under the illusion of luck will remain captives who love their captivity. They will never be free.
• THE WEDDING RING
There are many practices which have become generally accepted as a result of having been for generations. A lot of things which are done in the society today have origins which need to be examined.
Wedding rings are generally worn on the third finger of the left hand as a result of an ancient belief that there is a particular vein that runs from that finger to the heart. It is believed that if you put a wedding ring on that finger blood will flow from that ring to your heart. This,
according to the belief, will make you to have your partner in your heart at all times.
Satanic agents decided to take advantage of that belief by polluting the wedding ring in the market Thus they have affected many homes. Tell me, what happens to the marriage when the goldsmith who made the ring happens to be a hard-core demonic agent?
I have heard of instances when some husbands would throw away their wedding rings because of little quarrels with their wives. What happened, then, to the vein that ran from the finger to the heart? That is why at the MFM we go beyond all those physical symbols and conduct weddings with the Bible. A mere ring cannot bind a man and a woman together, but commitment to the word of God can do that.
• CANDLES
There is a proliferation of synergetic religions in Africa. A lot of people have succeeded in taking one or two things from Christianity and joining them with pagan or occultic elements thereby producing syncretism – an amalgam of African traditional religion and Christianity.
One of the basic features of thousands of the fringe churches or cults is the use of candles. The candle is one of the most powerful items used in the kingdom of darkness. Innocent men and women have been deceived into using all forms and shades of candles. One fact which they do not know is that there are demons in charge of those candles. The various colours of the candle have meanings in the dark kingdom. Black, yellow, red, green and other colours have spiritual meanings.
All those who have ever used candles to pray need deliverance. If you still have them at home you must throw them away. I pity those who have been asked by prophets to put candles inside bottles as a form of ritual for solving problems. There are candles without thread in them. There are also miniature ones as well as perfumed or scented ones. There are candles for every situation. These candles are found with many white garment prophets.
Many people have been deceived because they are told that those candles are powerful. This is part of the satanic strategy for leading and keeping people under bondage.
• MAKE-UP
Man is fond of inviting problems into his life. They go into actions that lead them into bondage when God did not create them for captivity. The idea of applying make-ups has reached bizarre dimensions today. When God created man there was no indication that God wanted him to makeup. He made everything good enough. It is when the glory of God departs that men and women will begin to look for make-up. True to the Word they try to make up for what is not there.
In fact, it is the ugly that tries to make up. Those who are truly beautiful do not need to make up. It is somebody who is hiding something bad (like deficiency in character) who tries to make up.
Somebody has observed that if God wanted us to smoke, He would have created a chimney at the back of our heads. If God wanted us to be painting our lips red, He would have painted them permanently red when He created us. One of the plans of the satanic kingdom is to influence men and women to look hideous, devilish and to appear like a caricature.
If you doubt what I am saying, just pay a visit to a record store and look at the pictures on the sleeves of the album. You will see all kinds of animal-like postures and appearances. Just look at the dressing of modern day musicians you will see that some of them try as much as possible to look like demons.
Why do you think the devil is trying to do all this? It is because the devil knows that man was created in the image of God something he has perfect hatred for. He therefore wants to remove the image of God from man and make him to look like animals and demons. Demons have no body, they hate the human body and try as much as possible to possess and corrupt the human body. Whenever they look at us, the remembrance of the fact that Jesus took the form of man is
brought to them. And that is one thing they hate to be reminded of.
That is why they try to make people look horrible.
Sometimes we see people in the streets and wonder whether they came from a home or the forest. We wonder how many mad people there are in the streets.
A lot of Christians who want to remain as slaves, who love to keep their chains, will ask us, “But why must you talk about our appearance? Why are you majoring on the minor?” It is my prayer that God will open the eyes of such people. That is why the Bible says “Having, therefore these promises, beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” (2 Cor. 7:1).
Hence, unless your holiness is both internal and external it is unacceptable to God. You cannot claim that you are holy internally when your external appearance is a far cry from God’s standard of holiness. That is why we teach that Christians must dress modestly.
All heaven- bound pilgrims should not copy the flashy and worldly styles of the people of the world. A Christian is not expected to be part of the fashion parades which have become the order of the day. Styles that are sponsored by pride, exhibitionism and the lust of the eyes have no attraction for truly crucified saints. Christians who are broken do not dress in order to attract attention to themselves. Christian ladies who love to please the Lord have nothing to do with the come-and-get-me styles of the world. They would not put on sleeveless, topless, backless and other forms of dresses that reveal delicate parts of the body. They put on dresses that are well above the knees.
I thank God for Christian women who are godly in their appearances. They do not allow the devil to make them stumbling blocks. How do you expect a man who has a problem and decided to come to church to cope with a lady who come to church exposing delicate parts of her body? How would such a man cope with ladies who put on tight-fitting dresses which reveal every contour of the female stature? Won’t he get into more trouble? It will be so bad if a
man who comes to the house of God looking for salvation becomes destroyed by daughters of Jezebel.
I wonder why people come to church with all kinds of strange dresses. Have we turned the church to a disco house? Doesn’t the Bible say, “My house shall be called a house of prayer?” Are these ladies doing a fashion competition? What is your purpose for dressing? Is it to show off or to be neat and decent?
We must speak the truth no matter what people will say. Human opinion may sound reasonable today, but it will not matter in eternity. To get a sober opinion about moderation and sobriety, undertake a visit to the mortuary. Look at elegantly dressed ladies and men. What would you feel about their dressing? Vanity of vanity, says the Scriptures. All is vanity. The truth can be very bitter. But, after all, we take bitter tablets when we are sick. We do not complain. So why complain about the truth which comes from the throne of the Almighty? We must make serious adjustments if we must be part of the last days army.
The heathen who worshipped demons were the inventors of the idea of piercing the ear. Earrings, nose jewelry, leg chains and rings for the toes are symbols of slavery.
Do you know that everywhere piercing of ears is mentioned in the Scriptures it is related to slavery? The origin of the custom of ear piercing is demonic. It is bad enough to pierce the ear. It is worse to decorate it with demonic jewelry. It is extremely demonic for a man to pierce his ear. The teaching of the Bible on this issue is very clear. The book of Deuteronomy tells us
A woman shall not put on that which partaineth to a man. Neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment for all that do so are abominations unto the Lord thy God (Deut 22:5).
The book of Revelation also tells us the lot of all those who constitute, abominations unto the Lord.
And there shall in no wise enter in anything that defileth neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie but they whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
The word ‘abomination’ is the strongest word the Bible uses for something that is completely hated by God. Why is it immoral for a woman to dress like a man and for a man to dress like a woman? It breaks the distinction of sexes. Go to Europe today you will see men who dress like women. They are effeminate. They tell people “I am a lady and I have a boyfriend.” That is surely an abomination.
Women did not really start to wear trousers until after the Second World War. The men went to the war and women had to work in the factories. It was then women started putting on trousers. But the real origin of the perversion can be traced to idol worship. It was a common practice among idol worshipers to make perversion in dressing one of the high points of their programme. Men put on women’s dresses while women put on men’s dresses whenever they wanted to worship an idol called Venus. They went ahead to commit immorality with themselves while putting on those strange clothes. That was the origin of the perversion of God’s purpose for dressing.
The choice is yours today. You can choose to either obey or disobey God. Slaves who love their chains are free to hold on to their slavery. But you will remember that we told you the truth.
I am surprised when I see people who have gone to Bible alleges who decide to use their knowledge to oppose sound doctrine. Such people have a lot of information in their brain but they lack knowledge of the truth. The devil also knows so much but he doesn’t have revelation. Those who have education without revelation will end up becoming satan’s comrade-in-arms. But how can a man decide to criticise someone who has revelation when he has nothing but education? Such people can go ahead and criticize those who spoke to God face to face when they themselves have never dreamt of seeing an angel. This is a very serious matter. That is why I would like you to stop at this moment and take this important prayer point.
Every evil handing over, be exposed and destroyed, in the name of Jesus.
We understand the peculiar situation of married women whose husbands are not converted. It may not be easy for them to make drastic changes. We would not advise you to break your home. I believe that the Holy Spirit will guide you and help you to strike a balance.
But I wonder why ladies who are single decide to hold on to styles that suggest captivity. I am baffled when some women some to see our pastors, telling them, “Please, help me in prayer. My husband ran away ten years ago and has never returned. I am tired of the situation. I want God to solve my problem.” You may think that such women are serious until you take a second look at them. Their earrings are touching their shoulders, their necklaces are touching their navels and there are more than 20 bangles on their hands. Are they serious? Who are they trying to please? Their run-away husbands? Slaves who love their chains shall remain in captivity.
When such women are told “why not remove all this excesses?” they give all kinds of excuses.
• YOUR IMMEDIATE ENVIRONMENT
It is necessary that you keep your environment clean if you must enjoy your life on earth. Do you know that it is an insult to God if you want Him and demons to feed on the same table? It is not only important that we free ourselves from all forms of darkness, it is much more important that we keep our immediate environment free from the influence of darkness. The Bible says,
The curse of the Lord is upon the house of the wicked but he blesses the dwelling place of the righteous (Prov. 3:33).
If this statement is true, why should a believer fail to experience blessing in his place of abode? I will give you the reasons.
One, if you move into a location (residence or office space) where the former occupant was a demonic person, you will likely encounter some problems, unless you know how to sanitize the environment spiritually. Such former residents, who are demonic agents will simply report you to their group. Then, you will begin to reap a harvest of problems. Even if no demonic personality had dwelled there, you can still experience some demonic infiltration if that location had been dedicated to demonic worship. This explains why some people acquire some plots of land in a particular location and find it difficult to build anything on it. When such people buy plots of land in other locations they can build with ease. Today, there are thousands of people who have abandoned their lands for yours. They just can’t build anything on it. Do you think that it is easy to build on demonic territory? If you fail to do some cleaning, you will likely experience some spiritual embargo as far as making progress is concerned.
There is no reason a believer should move into a place and fail to experience blessing there, unless evil forces have gained ground there without being challenged.
Two, if you harbour sin in your life and if there are objects of defilement in your dwelling place, you will not experience divine blessings. The presence of occultic books, satanic music, talisman, charms, “anointed water” and candles from fake prayer houses and other ungodly objects will hinder blessings from coming into your life. If cursed objects are kept in your homes you will experience demonic attack. If a place has been cursed, demons attach themselves to the place. If there is anybody in your place of abode who is under a curse, all the inhabitants will experience setbacks.
Couples who decide to employ witches as housemaids will experience a lot of spiritual attacks. Some people bring some innocent, looking young girls from the village thinking they have got useful helpers not knowing that they have invited problems into their homes. If somebody who is under a curse is brought into your home to fix your meals you have invited a curse into your family. Sooner or later there will be lots of demonic traffic in your home.
Many people are responsible for their problems. They are simply the architects of their own suffering.
What then is the solution to all these problems? What steps must we take to clean our environment? The steps are simple and clear.
HOW TO CLEANSE YOUR ENVIRONMENT
- Clear your house and throw away all articles that are not “holy unto the Lord”. Get rid of them no matter how costly they are. Take an inventory of old and new items in your home and remove whatever constitutes an abomination unto the Lord. If someone gave you an item and you discover that the person is in the occult, you must throw away such an item. All idolatrous carvings, demonic paintings; music that is inspired by the devil, articles used in the worship of Satan and anything that you are in doubt of must be discarded. There is no amount of sanctifying an accursed object that can purify it.
- After removing questionable objects go ahead and purify your environment. Do you know that problems will abound wherever sin is practised? If a manager decides to sleep with a secretary in me office he will experience problems in his business. Do not take anything for granted. You must know how to carry out environmental sanitation, spiritually speaking. You can pray in the following ways:
a I command anything from the kingdom of satan that has been inhabiting this place to go, in the name of Jesus.
b I command all the grounds and lights that have been given to the kingdom of darkness to stay here to be broken, in the name of Jesus.
c I command all associated curses and incantations and covenants to be broken now, in the name of Jesus.
d Every evil spirit living in this location leave this place now and never return, in the name of Jesus.
- Consecrate and dedicate the location to God. The moment you have finished sanctifying the place you must ensure that it is dedicated to the glory of God. You can do this by praying in the following way:
a I dedicate this place to You, O God, in the name of Jesus.
b I ask You to cleanse this environment by the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
c Oh Lord, put the seal of the Holy Spirit on this location, in the name of Jesus.
d I ask You to pour the blood of Jesus all over this place, in the name of Jesus.
e Oh Lord, fill the whole of this place with Your holy angels.
f I proclaim this place holy unto the Lord, and I dedicate it to the Lord Jesus.
- You should anoint the location with anointing oil, blessing it, in the name of Jesus.
- Fill your environment with articles that glorify the Lord. You can make use of good stickers and pictorial words that glorify the Lord. You can also play good Christian music.
- Maintain the protection of the place by praying daily on the place.
- Be cautious about taking visitors into your house. The negative influence of a single visitor can lead you into perpetual captivity. If somebody comes around your house and passes urine and excreta all over the place, you may not understand the spiritual implication. That may be the beginning of stubborn problems.
Finally, you owe yourself a duty of carrying a spiritual environmental sanitation if you must live to enjoy your life and your environment. To get the benefit of what you have read so far you must take the following prayer points with the totality of your strength.
- Every problem in my life that is linked with ignorance, receive solution now, in the name of Jesus.
- Every witchcraft network working against my breakthrough, be dismantled by fire, in the name of Jesus.
. Every seed of witchcraft in my family, die, in the name of Jesus.
- Every power denying me my rightful place, clear off, in the name of Jesus.
- Every power dispatching demons to me, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.
. Make the following confessions of faith:
Oh Lord, I know that your power is above all powers. Your name is far above every name. At the name of Jesus, every knee of wickedness militating against me, bow down. Because it is written, greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. The Lord is a man of war. He shall fight for me. Therefore I pursue my enemies, I overtake them. I recover my properties. No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper. Untimely death is not my lot. I shall not die but live to declare the works of God. Listen to me satan I am not your candidate. I command you to return my virtues, in the name of Jesus.
. I will make it, in the name of Jesus.
. Where others have failed I will succeed, in the name of Jesus.
