FOUNDATIONAL DELIVERANCE AND YOUR MINISTRY
The most crucial area where deliverance Is needed is the area of foundational deliverance. No matter what your official title is, you need foundational deliverance.
You have a foundation. You did not drop from the sky. You have ancestors who worshipped idols, got involved In ritual killings, served as priests and priestesses, drank human blood and parents who were cursed.
You cannot ignore your foundation. An Idolatrous foundation cannot produce a successful ministry. You must make definite efforts towards deleting your name from the list of offsprings whose future have been consecrated to the gods of the land. You must pray definite foundation cleansing prayers. If you never went through foundational deliverance, you have a long way to go. As far as ministerial success or fulfilment is. concerned, you need to thoroughly go through foundational deliverance as a minister.
THE UGLY FOUNDATION
If you are a black man living or ministering in Africa, or if you are one of the blacks in the diaspora, you need foundational deliverance. You do not need to copy ministers from the Western world. European and American ministers do not have our kind of background. They are products of generations of revivals. For over one hundred years they have been exposed to Christianity. The worship of idols, and
performance of rituals and sacrifices are not in their ancestral past.
Even if your own parents are no longer worshipping idols, it is likely that someone in the extended family is busy offering sacrifices to idols on your behalf. Only God knows how many things your relatives are doing in hidden shrines in the name of trying to protect you. Of course, you have not sent anyone to appease the gods of the land for you, but they are carrying out such rituals due to spiritual blindness or ignorance. If God should open your eyes, you would be amazed at the terrible things in your foundation.
A SPIRITUAL SURVEY
Nobody is disputing the fact that you are a pastor or a minister. The fact we are emphasizing is that your foundation was built upon the platform of idolatry. Unless the effect of your idolatrous past is dealt with, you cannot experience enduring ministerial success. You may be carrying out your ministerial assignment in an urban area, but there is surely an old man in your village or place of birth trying to table your matter before the local priest or priestess.
The truth is that you cannot divorce your present ministerial work from your foundation or background. Let us examine this scenario. Imagine a pastor whose father is the head of the most powerful cult in the village. The mother happens to be a powerful witch. As if that is not enough, the grandfather happened to be such an adept that if he dived into the river he would come out of it with both body and dresses dry.
How can your grandfather possess such mysterious powers and you would not need any form of deliverance from foundational bondage? How can you think of becoming a pastor and the power of your father’s house will let you operate without any hindrance?
In the Old Testament a good number of people suffered the consequences of foundational bondage without knowing that the attacks they experienced were factored by ancestral powers. When Job suffered virulent attacks, he felt that God was behind his travails. Little did he know that a spiritual drama had taken place before the strings of attacks
came.
The devil came to challenge God and to announce his plans towards attacking Job and his family. Job was oblivious of the fact that there was a personality, behind his travails. However in the New Testament, Jesus unveiled the secrets behind fundamental bondage and makes us to see the enemy behind our travails.
In the Old Testament, the devil was able to masquerade and destroy his victim’s lives through manipulation as it was in the case of Job. But Jesus came and revealed the truths of spiritual warfare. When Jesus said, “An enemy, has done this”, He was making it crystal clear that the devil is both the mastermind and the executor of many spiritual coup de’etats.
Unless you gain insight into the satanic angle of the problems you are passing through as a minister, you will continue to move from one place to another looking for help without anyone in sight. If you need foundational deliverance and you fail to go for it, you will be bombarded by a lot of problems. Ministers who fail to seek and obtain deliverance from foundational bondage will run from pillar to post being pursued by problems.
